Finding new ways to Empower!

I have always felt I was confident, but really was I? Until today I thought I was, then the penny dropped! What exactly happened. I’ve been reading a book by Jeremy Harbour entitled “GO DO DEALS“, and I will admit it has opened my eyes to a few things, not just from what he’s trying to show you but how I view myself. I think Jeremy is one of those people that writes plainly (no offence) but he also makes you evaluate yourself in the most simplistic ways too.

When working I tend not to get flustered but when I am at home and doing personal things I tend to fluster a little easier. That is until today. I got a sales call that was quite high pressured and I normally would just ask them to call me back at a more convenient time but today my answer surprised even me “For me I am afraid that is a NO!” instantly the caller backed right off and ended the call.

This has left me feeling empowered and I am now actively thinking about ways in which I can be more direct and forceful in life without offending but definitely keeping people in their boxes.

I am not one to read “self-empowerment” books, and that is not what “GO DO DEALS” is about it’s about buying and selling businesses, but I have found a lot more to it than that. So if you’re looking for something to read on a train or flight, that is self-motivating and will make you think a lot I completely recommend this book.
